Tell Google: "Don't be evil"

And to stop dealing away the Internet

Several news outlets recently reported that Google and Verizon are about to cut a deal that would allow giant corporations to control which websites load slowly, quickly, or not at all. It would be an about-face by Google, betraying their stated commitment to an Internet without corporate gatekeepers.

Thankfully, it's not a done deal yet. If enough of us speak out now, we can create enough pressure to get Google to back off. Please add your voice below, then ask your friends and family to do the same.

Below is the message we'll send to Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google. You can add your own personal comments in the box to the left.

Dear Eric Schmidt,

Google's motto has been "Don't be evil." The reported deal between Google and Verizon appears to be a first step in undoing the open Internet upon which hundreds of millions of us rely. I expect Google to act according to its values and uphold and protect an open Internet.

Sincerely,
